Bianchi Morley is a Structural Design Consultancy based in the United Kingdom with a branch in Australia and is led by internationally acclaimed Award Winning Stadium Designer and Long Span Specialist Stephen Morley. Stephen Morley is renowned for architecturally-engineering some of the most Iconic Sports Stadia around the globe including the gold medal award winning Stadium Australia. In 2003 Stephen Morley was selected as an Advisor to the IOC on Structures for the Athens Olympics.

Bianchi Morley is comprised of a team of specialist individuals with outstanding skills in concept design, structural engineering, quality control and business management. Bianchi Morley excels in structural concept design and works alongside the architect from the first stages of concept design to ensure the most efficient and sustainable solutions optimizing form and function in order to create truly iconic structures. Bianchi Morley can work in conjunction with other engineering companies whose primary role is the detailed engineering of the concept design, or provide a complete structural design service. Bianchi Morley also conduct technical reviews in principal of the concept design through the detailed engineering phase as well as advising contractors in erection methodology.


Stephen Morley
is Bianchi Morley’s Director of Design and has devised the structural concept of and/or led the detail design of over 25 sports facilities around the globe including the gold medal winning Stadium Australia for the Sydney Olympics, Nanjing Sports Centre Malaysia and Wembley National Stadium. Stephen Morley is regarded as an International specialist in long spans and excels in the architectural/engineering of Stadia which includes significantly contributing to the architectural form.

Stephen Morley was selected as the Director of Structural Design to the Mott Stadium Consortium on Wembley and Specialist Consultant to Buro Happold for the new Ascot Grandstand as well as Specialist Advisor to Manchester City for Manchester Commonwealth Games Main Stadium on which he jointly did the structural concept with Arup. Stephen led the structural redesign of the Athens Olympic Main Stadium Roof and also devised the concept design and/or led the detail engineering of 6 other main facilities for the Athens Games. Stephen has co-authored the FSADC design guide on Stadium Roofs and the IStructE guide on Stadium Dynamics.


Carol Fines
(Bianchi) is Bianchi Morley’s Design and Business Executive. With a family history in engineering in the United Kingdom and product design in Italy, Carol has a flair for design and invention and has produced concept designs in various mediums including structural and mechanical and product design. Carols analytical and problem solving skills were key to deriving the initial solution for the concept design for Wimbledon’s Centre Court Moving Roof. Carol’s scope also includes being the ‘first port of call’ in relation to new opportunities, and negotiates all the contracts, business strategy and fees for Bianchi Morley.


Jamie Fines is Bianchi Morley's Director of Research and Development and has 20 years of experience in the field of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Jamie’s role includes research and development, engineering systems (Jamie wrote the Motive and Control Gear specification for Wimbledon's Center Court moving roof) and logistics. Jamie conducts research and reviews of existing facilities and the success and weaknesses in their design, construction and operation as well as areas such as mechanical mechanisms (including moving roofs), inventions, processes, trends, new concepts and inputs valuable information throughout the project.
